ABOUT The Instructor
Jeff was born and raised in Louisiana, hunting and fishing since he was 8 years old.

He graduated from LSU with a degree in Computer Science and has done research and development projects for DARPA, the Navy, Air Force, Army, NIH, and NASA. This work includes robotics, myoelectric control for prosthesis, satellite communications systems, artificial intelligence for security systems, and hand-held Raman spectrometers.

Jeff has a wife and two kids, Mitchell and Daniela, who grew up loving the outdoors and adventure. Jeff not only coached and taught his kiddos sports, like football and basketball, but also had them baiting their own hooks and catching fish at a young age. Outdoor family trips were a favorite way to spend time together and continue to be a common theme in family reunions today.
Jeff first picked up a fly rod in Texas in August 2007 and began his journey for casting instructor certification in the summer of 2008. In 2017 he moved to Oregon and continued his journey. He tested and received his official FFI CI certification in March 2020 back home in Lake Charles and is now actively teaching fly casting in the areas around Salem, Albany and Corvallis.
